Manage Ops Manager Users and Roles

Ops Manager manages user authentication and feature authorization.

Ops Manager requires users to log in to authenticate themselves. Once a user has logged into Ops Manager, Ops Manager reviews which roles the user has been assigned to authorize what Ops Manager features the user can use.

You can optionally use the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) to manage Ops Manager users and roles. If you choose to use LDAP to manage Ops Manager users and roles, the procedures in this section do not apply. Please see Configure Ops Manager Users for LDAP Authentication and Authorization instead.

This section describes:

Manage Ops Manager Users
Create and manage Ops Manager users and assign roles.
Ops Manager Roles
Describes the user roles available within the Ops Manager.
